Steering Committee

Decisions about the overall scientific direction and management of the NNTC are made by a 14-member Steering Committee (SC) that is chaired by Dr. Howard Fox, PI of the Data Coordinating Center & Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience at University of Nebraska Medical Center. Voting members include the PIs of the four clinical centers (Dr. Gelman – TNRC, Dr. Moore/Dr. Achim - CNTN, Dr. Singer - NNAB, & Dr. Morgello – MHBB), the PI of the Data Coordinating Center (Dr. Fox), and the NIH Project Scientist (Dr. Jeymohan). Non-voting members of the SC include five research scientists that comprise the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). Each of the 5 sites selected a scientist to serve as an advisor to review and refine study protocols and procedures as well as ensure the project is properly aligned to address the current research needs in the field. Four NIH program officers also serve as non-voting members of the SC. In recognition of the broad scope and complexity of the NNTC, subcommittees have been created to both advise the SC on the optimal manners of function, as well as advance the shared consortium-wide agenda. Each subcommittee reports to the SC and presents meeting minutes and decisions made to the SC for review. The current subcommittees are presented below.

Allocations and Publication Subcommittee

The purpose of the Allocations Subcommittee is to 1. allocate the pooled resources of the NNTC to the research community, members of the consortium, and/or public with fairness and efficiency; and 2. Plan and regulate collaborative research projects of the NNTC, including publication planning. The subcommittee consists of the four site PIs, the PI of the DCC, and the NIH Project Scientist.
